Set just off Thailand 's South Western coastal town of Krabi on the east side of Phi Phi island and Phuket. Ko Lanta is the unique, un-spoilt tropical isle, preserving its community spirit in both family and business life. With clear cool waters and superb white-sand beaches stretching along the 27 kilometers coastline, it's paradisiacal appeal remains unmarred by mass tourism. The Island also boasts a mountain range covered in rain forest, and reaches a height of almost 500 metres at it's extreme ends.

The Ko lanta archipelago is made up of over fifty small islands, Lanta Yai is center island proving most attractive to tourists, claiming the majority of impressive beaches and activities for visitors. The island itself runs from North to South, with the West coast established as the main tourist area, where the East coast is for less developed, and extends a chance for the more curious explorer to glimpse life without tourism.

A total of 134 square kilometers on both land and at sea, comprises the government designated National Park area, as declared in 1990. Steep craggy limestone island covered by tropical rain forests characterize the park, and although most of the small islands within are uninhabitable by man, they support a wide diversity of plant and animal life on the cliffs, and in the sea below. The headquarters for the park are located at the southernmost tip of Lanta Yai, and are symbolized by the picturesque lighthouse on site.
